Integrity & Influence.
I was recently asked to make content for a cellular security camera I had invested in for foaling season this year. I told them I’d like to wait until I’d used the camera for an extended period of time first, and they didn’t seem to really like that.
But now as time as gone on, I’m glad I didn’t. Because we have ran into issues, in the middle of the night, that have left me stressed, and unimpressed.
I can’t say other options would be better, but my voice and my support of something matters to me.
Living in the modern era, full of influencers, opinions and the “next best thing”- in any context- becomes very draining and exhausting trying to sort through.
Integrity and a man’s word means less and less, but with this, comes a great opportunity. For those of us whose word does mean something. Who are willing to bleed for their goals, who’s willing to blister their hands and do work left behind by others.
To be at one with one’s self enough to admit when they are wrong, and eat crow when called for.
I might not get extra views or acknowledgment for doing the right thing by the horse, because often times that is boring. It’s slow, it’s over an extended period of time.
But in my soul, and my character, it matters so very much to me.
So here’s to those who balance their rations, who take care of their horses, who don’t sell out to the first company that hits them up for a brand deal, and more importantly. Here’s to those who are willing to bust their back cleaning up a mess that isn’t theirs, because it’s the right thing to do.
